About the event

Learn how to be a peacemaker! https://tinyurl.com/avpnj-2024-10/

Do you want to be a peacemaker? Then sign up for this interactive workshop with the Alternatives to Violence Project. Using people’s life experiences and hands-on exercises, we explore how to respond peacefully in conflict situations where frustration and anger can lead to hostility. This is also a first step in learning to facilitate peace programs in your community.

This AVP workshop helps us to:

  • Understand why conflict happens
  • Manage strong feelings such as anger and fear
  • Communicate well in difficult situations
  • Be true to ourselves while respecting others
  • Activate the peacemaking skills we already have

When: October 23-25, 2024 (Because all the activities build on one another, you must attend all sessions to receive a certificate of completion)

  • Wednesday, October 23: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 24: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
